Funeral Fruit & Gourmet Gift Baskets

A fruit and gourmet gift basket is an appropriate gift for the family of the deceased. This gift may be shared with visiting family and friends and is intended to comfort the mourners. A gift basket may be sent before or after the funeral. While gift baskets are appropriate for all families, fruit and gourmet baskets (which may be Kosher) are the only type of gift appropriate for religious Jewish families and are normally sent to the family home during the Shiva period of mourning.
